The Return of the NC Festival by the Sea!

Every Autumn there are lots of festivals and local events taking place all around coastal North Carolina. If you’re in the area looking at NC coastal real estate with us at Carolina Plantations we encourage you to get out and about and take in as much local flavor as you can. You’ll quickly see what makes living here the number #1 choice for countless families and retirees alike.

The last full weekend in October the Holden Beach Merchants Association hosts the popular NC Festival by the Sea. This is a 2 day event taking place on October 24 and 25, 2015 this year and gets kicked off with a parade down the Holden Beach Causeway. This is the only day of the year that you can walk across the Holden Beach bridge and several hundred people take that high altitude stroll each year to stake out their spot to view the parade.

The Arts and Crafts vendors are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. You’ll want to plan to be at the festival to enjoy at least a couple of meals and a snack or two, just to sample a portion of the delicious local food that will be available.

For those enjoying competitions, there is a horsehoe tournament and a sandcastle-building contest. Children enjoy face painting, huge kites flying overhead and children’s rides and amusements. There is also live musical entertainment for all to enjoy both days at Holden Beach’s new Pavilion.

The Festival by the Sea is a free event and there's plenty of parking so bring the family and plan on staying for the day!
