As of Wednesday night, October 5, 2016, Hurricane Matthew is slowly headed towards the coast of Florida and is expected to head north towards Georgia and South Carolina. Friends of mine that live in Charleston, Bluffton and Hilton Head are all leaving the coast and headed inland as they have been told to evacuate.
Currently in our area, we have no evacuation notices because the latest models have the storm heading almost due east once it reaches the coast of South Carolina. Of course we expect some good rain on Friday and Saturday and Matthew could change his mind but, a high coming from Tennessee moving east is expected to kick Matthew out into the Atlantic.
Feel free to call our office at 910 755-7557 in the upcoming days for updates as we plan to be here. And on behalf of the team at Carolina Plantations, our prayers and concerns go out to all that in the possible path of Matthew.
